Our Mission
As a 501 (C)3 our mission is to end the slaughter pipeline by rescuing, sheltering and treating horses with love and compassion. We also do our best to take in surrendered animals that might end up at the auction or their owners are unable to care for them. We have recently become a Full Circle of Life Shelter. Commited to do what is best for the animals.
What we do....
We are a Full Circle of Life Horse Shelter.
We do our best to take in any horse in need…… Young, old, broke, unhandled, and special needs. No matter what stage of life they are in. From their beginning to their end, horses find love, safety, compassion, and peace at Outlaw Equine Rescue and Rehab.
Horses come from owner surrenders, neglect cases, and directly from auctions, where they are in danger of shipping to kill pens to be slaughtered.
Our goal..
Our goal is to help each horse have a better quality of life and place them into forever homes.
With evaluation from a veterinarian (when needed), and also our trainers to help them become happy, healthy and adoptable.
We do our best to match each animal with the best home possible.

Adoptable animals
Our goal at OERR is to adopt horses and other animals into loving forever homes. You can feel confident that our horses have veterinarian (if neccessay), farrier and trainer evaluations. We offer full disclosure of any behavioral issues that we are aware of. We also will take any horse back if it is not the right fit and exchange it for another horse.
It doesn't happen overnight
When considering a rescue animal we cannot forget that they require an adjustment period.
Please read the
3-3-3 rule. before filling out the adoption application to make sure you are willing to allow your rescue animal the proper adjustment time.
We do require home checks:
We are looking for safe facilities, shelter, appropriate turn out and companionship, as well as the overall health of the other animals.
Schedule an appointment to meet the animal:
Visitation is by APPOINTMENT ONLY. We do not have standard hours and we do not accept walk in appointments. Please do not show up more than 15 minutes before your appointment. An OERR Representative must approve the suitability of the horse for the situation, home and applicant’s skill level.
Appointment does not mean you are guaranteed an adoption of a horse.
Owner Surrenders
Outlaw Equine Rescue and Rehab is an open door horse rescue.
We do not ever turn away an equine regardless of condition, age or
location. We also accept surrenders of horses needing the last
act of kindness if they have reached the end of their natural life
or are having quality of life issues.
SURRENDER FEE
Because OERR is an open door Full Circle of Life Rescue, we do
ask for a surrender fee of $500 per horse. This fee is not
required, but suggested. Paid surrenders can be accepted to the
rescue as soon as the the fee is paid.
If you are unable to pay the fee, the horse will still be accepted, but only as
space and funds allow. Wait times can range from 14-30 days.
Surrender fees go directly to veterinarian, farrier and feeding
expenses of that horse while it is with OERR.
TRANSPORTATION
Horses can always be delivered to OERR by appointment.
Horses requiring pickup will need to be scheduled with us as time allows.
We are a fully volunteer supported organization, so your patience is appreciated with transportation.
We can transport for a fee of $1.00-$1.25 a mile
If you need your horse picked up more urgently, please reach out to our professional transporters:
